Wellington Rifle Association – DECEMBER 2014 NEWSLETTER

CHRISTMAS SHOOT Saturday 20 December has been designated our Christmas shoot. This year we have planned a shared pot luck meal for all clubs. This will be held in the Trentham Clubrooms after clubs have had time for doing Christmas presents in their own clubrooms. There is one small oven in The Trentham Clubrooms, please heat any food in your own clubrooms and bring food ready to eat, thanks.

WORKING BEES: Many thanks to the eight people who turned up and cleaned out the trench in the butts on Sunday 30 November.

RANGE FLAGS If the range flags are wet when you bring them in, please spread them out in clubrooms or in the NRA target shed, rather than putting them in the flag box.
Wednesday 7 Jan, 9 a.m. The range needs to be set up for the week of the nationals, pegs put out and flags up as well as any last minute jobs like getting the target legs in position for the week.
Thursday 8 Jan, 9 a.m. Meet at the NRA target shed, to get the targets to the butts for the national champs. We need at least three people from each club. Please put the dates in your diary.

The profits from this shoot support your association. You are all able to compete. If you are not able to make the time to shoot the whole week of the national champs, this is a good way to be involved and meet shooters from around NZ and overseas.

WRA TEAM SHOOTS AT NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIPS The WRA enters teams in two competitions during the NRA Champs.

The first shoot is the Districts Teams Match over the Belt Series. There is no need to nominate for this team as it is selected from WRA members entering the competition. The match uses the totals scored by the shooters, who are selected, over the 10 matches of the belt series.
The second shoot is a coached districts team’s match on Friday 16 January in the afternoon. Team members fire 10 shoots to count at 900 and 1000 yards. Please let your club selector know if you are available. The WRA pays the entry fees for these matches. We will enter as many teams as needed for WRA members shooting. WRA
